About Yemaya Salsa Dance:

The Yemay Salsa DAnce Company was founded by Emelie Andagan & Heather Wong-Xoquic in October, 2000.  Emelie was able to learn salsa within a short time because of her dance background and many years of experience as a ballet/jazz student, and later a teacher at the Ballet Theatre of Dover Dance Conservatory.  The troupe started as a small group of only four couples that rehearsed twice a week in various garages and practivally anywhere with a smooth surface.  The company has grown ever since and they have been entertaining audiences in the Sacramento area community and beyond.

The Yemaya Salsa Dance Company is recognized by the State of California as a non-profit public benefit corporation.
