Chino Espinoza y Los Duenos Del Son

Vocalist Mirley Espinoza, known by his fellows musicians as “Chino El Sonero”, was born in the city of Alajuela, Costa Rica, on July 22, 1967.

In the early 90’s he recorded and released his first CD for Warner Brothers as the lead vocal of the “Opa-Opa” band. In addition, Chino has had to opportunity to participate musically, with other top musical groups, including the Malibu Salsa All Stars, The L.A. Jazz All Stars, The RMM All Stars Band and the “Tito Puente with the Eddy Palmieri” Tribute Orchestra.

Chino has been featured on many recordings, including: Bobby Rivas, Bolivia, Mojaditicos, Pete Escobedo, Bette Midler, Los Del Barrio, and Rumba Grande. For many years Chino was also the lead singer for the Los Angeles based Orchestra Son Mayor. In addition to his studio work, Chino has also been privileged to perform with many touring orchestras accompanying artists as: Celia Cruz, Eddy Santiago, Rey Sepulveda, Tito Puente Jr, Tito Gomez, Jesus Enriquez, Miles Pena, Many Manuel, Domingo Quinonez, Tony Vega, Hernan Oliveira, Michael Steward and Jerry Medina.

Come end join Yemaya Salsa on Labor Day weekend for a salsa getaway to wonderful Monterey.  Salsa Workshop and Dance on Saturday and a relaxing Sunday afternoon by the water.  Just some time to enjoy one another and relax.  Potluck, so bring your favorite dish, we’ll provide the salsa music and bonfire.
